Say hello to summer with the Summer Grand Slam and Barbeque! This year we're heading to a new location, the Christ Church Neighborhood House, but the deal is the same- we'll party with good food, booze and live music before the winners from our monthly Slams at World Cafe Live and L'Etage compete for the title of "Best Storyteller in Philadelphia" and free Slam admission for life. With none other than "the most hilarious guy in Philly," Doogie Horner, as our host.

At the BBQ, enjoy food from the award-winning Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse and beer from Victory Brewing Company, plus a live performance by Astoria's The Yes Team. (The Grand Slam sells out every year. Advance tickets are highly recommended for the Grand Slam and required for the BBQ).
And for the first time, we're excited to offer a new prize for the winner, in partnership with the Painted Bride Quarterly, one of the longest running literary magazines in the country. The editors of the Quarterly will work with the winning storyteller to include the story in the summer/spring online edition (theme: Displacement) and the 2011 print version.
